Why We Built Australia's Best Shower Filter

I tried everything, but turned out, it was my water.

I had sensitive, itchy skin for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I'd get red, rashy skin whenever I itched. My scalp would flake in colder weather, and I'd get that white dry skin build-up on my shoulders (super embarrassing).

I tried all the usual things: moisturisers, special shampoos, diet changes, but nothing really made a difference.

Then I learned that basically all treated tap water contains chlorine and other chemicals to kill bacteria like E. coli. That's a good thing, but when you shower in it every day, it strips away your skin's natural barrier.

I couldn't find a filter that actually worked. Most weren't designed for Australian water. They were cheap, plastic, and either wore out fast or weren't tested at all. So I decided to make my own, something effective that also looked good in my bathroom. That's how Watego was born.

Since switching, my skin and scalp have had zero issues. No flakes, no itching, no redness. I actually get compliments on my skin now.

This brand is personal to me. I want as many people as possible to feel the difference of showering in clean, filtered water.

Why Your Water Matters

All treated Australian tap water contains chlorine...

But here's the thing: when you shower in that same water every day, the chlorine strips away your skin's natural oils, dries out your hair, and can irritate sensitive skin.

Australian tap water can contain up to 10x more chlorine than countries like Germany. Typical levels sit between 0.5-1 mg/L here, compared to Europe's 0.03-0.05 mg/L.
